Accepted values for customer marketing consent variables (BPE)
When using the CSV Import feature for Bulk Customer Edit in the BPE app, the following values are supported when editing Email or SMS marketing consent status:
Marketing State
| Value | Meaning |
| NOT_SUBSCRIBED | The customer hasn't subscribed to SMS marketing. |
| PENDING | The customer is in the process of subscribing to SMS marketing. |
| SUBSCRIBED | The customer is subscribed to SMS marketing. |
| UNSUBSCRIBED | The customer isn't currently subscribed to SMS marketing but was previously subscribed. |
Please note that NOT_SUBSCRIBED is not accepted if the value for marketing state of the customer is any value other than NOT_SUBSCRIBED when editing existing customers. Generally, use of NOT_SUBSCRIBED is recommended only when adding new customers using CSV edit features.
As well, when adding new customers, please be aware that marketing state is required if marketing consent status is disclosed to newly added customers.
Marketing Opt In Level
| Value | Meaning |
| CONFIRMED_OPT_IN | After providing their information, the customer receives a confirmation and is required to perform a intermediate step before receiving marketing information. |
| SINGLE_OPT_IN | After providing their information, the customer receives marketing information without any intermediate steps. |
| UNKNOWN | The customer receives marketing information but how they were opted in is unknown. |
