Why did adding a new option create another with "Default Title"?

Every product on Shopify has at least one variant associated with it. If you don't specify any options at the time of product creation, your product will have an Option Name/Category of Title, and an Option Value of Default Title. Shopify automatically hides this variant if it is the only one.

Once a new product option is added, however, this condition no longer applies and this variant is now visible. If you don't want the default variant to appear, you'll need to specify product options at the time of creation or delete the default variant afterwards.

You can remove this variant by following these steps:

1. Open the Variants & Options section of the app
2. Select filter(s) to target the desired product(s)
3. For the edit, select Remove a Product Option Name
4. Enter the Option Name, which is: Title
